For a wedding venue that is very different,  come to Ko Tane and discover Tane Mahuta, the Maori God of the Forest, and a people who live in harmony with nature. The setting is idyllic, in the heart of a forest glade, surrounded by native trees and serene pools in our Living Maori village.

Your wedding at Ko Tane will be an authentic Maori cultural experience. On your special day you will be taken by Rolls Royce to Ko Tane Living Maori Village where you will begin your journey not only into marriage but also into the history of New Zealand’s indigenous people.

You will be greeted by Maori Warriors performing the famous Wero or challenge. Then you will be welcomed with a traditional powhiri (ritual of welcome). The purpose of this process is the bringing together of two spirits, your spirit, which is manuhiri (visitors to the land), and our spirit, tangata whenua (local tribespeople).

For your marriage witnesses, who could be better than two Maori warriors to stand in for you?  After the ceremony you will be entertained by a Maori cultural performance of songs and dances of celebration while you savour a glass of NZ bubbly.
